My ACL Fest 3-day pass paid off big time for the second year in a row. I'm pretty tempted to go ahead and get a cheap 2009 pass right now while they're available. Let me crank out some best of's:
- Best Daytime Show: MGMT
- Best Sunset Show: David Byrne
- Best Night Show: Band of Horses
- Best Surprise Show: CSS, who I hadn't heard but came highly recommended
- Worst Surprise Show: Beck ending 15 minutes early (insert Xenu joke)
- Best Heard in the Distance Show: Gogol Bordello
- Best Fro-Bobbing Guitar Solo: Mars Volta
- Best T-Shirt: Illegal (with an arrow pointing sideways)
- Best Food: Salt Lick Chopped Beef Sandwich during M Ward's show at the Wamu Memorial Pavilion - messy but good as hell with a ton of extra sauce
- Worst Food: Salt Lick sausage wrap during Band of Horses - the link was like plastic and the tortilla was like an old horse blanket
- Best Beer: a tie between the Heineken tall I drank just before Neko Case came on and the bud light at the Deep Eddy Cabaret
- Least Finished Beer: The last one I was drinking on Saturday - some asshole kicked it over in the passing stampede as we packed up our chairs to head out
- Most Hilarious Dance: The guy in the front right of my picture from the Raconteurs with the visor hat - he was doing this awesome snake wiggle that he had clearly practiced over years of outdoor concert grooving
